Job Description:

Duties: Works closely with data scientists and business stakeholders to

define data requirements, perform gap analysis, source and transform data

to support exploratory data analysis, and design models.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Works with data scientists to understand strategy and translate

into actionable data sourcing.

• Supports the analytical process.

• Identifies, prioritizes, and communicates data requirements to

support big data analytics that deliver key business insights.

• Sources, cleanses, and constructs data for use by data scientists

and modelers.

• Facilitates meetings with business users and project stakeholders

to document and review requirements.

• Plans, implements, and tracks long-term and short-term data

projects.

• Partners with technology teams to operationalize findings from

exploratory data sourcing sprints.

• Develops business data domain expertise to enable accelerated

delivery of data for modeling/analytics needs, including robust

documentation on new data sources and domains.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in

Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,

Business and Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely

related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five

(5) years of experience developing analytical strategies and data

transformations for big data within a direct to consumer financial services

or IT services and solutions environment; or, alternatively, Master’s

degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering,

Information Technology, Information Systems, Business and Information

Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3)

years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience

developing analytical strategies and data transformations for big data

within a direct to consumer financial services or IT services and solutions

environment. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”)

performing data mining, transformation, and analytics of retail and

workplace customer data, including channel, interaction, products,

segments, and sales activities; DE mining big data sources to support

development of predictive models, including creating statistical algorithms

to perform logistic regressions, time series, and clustering analysis, and

to grow random forests and estimate mixed models; and implementing

parametric and non-parametric techniques for large customer behavioral and

transactional data sets using Business R systems products; DE gathering and

interpreting business and stakeholder requirements; and sourcing and

developing business, functional, and technical requirements, analytical

strategies, and data transformations to support and inform business

decision making within a direct to consumer financial services company,

including finance, distribution, products, marketing, sales, and service

domains; DE performing data mining, extraction, cleansing, and analysis for

large data warehouses, using Business R, Oracle, MS-SQL server, Hadoop,

PostgreSQL, Hive, and Spark; creating new ETL processes; and designing data

models and generating visual insights from customer data, using SSRS,

Tableau, QlikView, and Business R visual analytics.
