Job Description Job Description Maintenance Technician – Food Manufacturing Location: [City, State] Job Type: Full-Time Industry: Food Manufacturing / Processing Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support production and packaging operations in a food manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing and packaging equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical and basic electrical experience, understands food-grade environments, and can respond quickly to minimize downtime. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on food processing and packaging equipment Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues Maintain and repair conveyors, fillers, sealers, mixers, ovens, and packaging machinery Respond to equipment breakdowns and production support calls Perform machine setups, changeovers, and adjustments Conduct equipment inspections to ensure reliability and safety Read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics Document maintenance activities using CMMS or work order systems Follow GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements Adhere to all safety policies, including lockout/tagout procedures Qualifications 2–5 years of maintenance experience in a food, beverage, or consumer goods manufacturing environment Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills Basic electrical knowledge (motors, sensors, wiring, controls) Experience with conveyors and packaging machinery Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to work off-shifts, weekends, or on-call as needed Preferred Experience Experience with high-speed packaging lines Pneumatic and hydraulic system knowledge PLC troubleshooting exposure (not programming-heavy) Familiarity with FDA-regulated or GMP environments Welding or fabrication experience
