Job Description Job Description General Manager – Residential HVAC Services Location: Greater Worcester, MA Area Employment Type: Full-Time S alary: $120,000 to $150,000 (based on qualifications) plus commissions and bonuses We are seeking an experienced HVAC leader to own and grow a residential-focused service business in the Greater Worcester area. This role combines hands-on technical field work with full operational management to establish strong foundations and drive long-term success. For the first approximately 3 months you will perform solo field work including troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, installations, and maintenance on residential heating and cooling systems. You will continue hands-on field involvement for the first 6 to 12 months while the business generates sufficient revenue to hire and support additional technicians and installers. Key Responsibilities Perform residential HVAC field work independently at the start, including same-day resolutions for repairs, installations, and maintenance. Transition gradually to oversight and leadership as the team expands with technicians and installers. Own profit and loss, revenue growth, budgets, sales targets, and key performance metrics. Build and maintain vendor relationships to secure competitive pricing and reliable supply. Optimize dispatching, technician workloads, job costing, and operational efficiency. Coach and develop staff on technical standards, safety, and teamwork. Develop work instructions, procedures, and a knowledge base for consistent quality. Ensure safety compliance, continuous improvement, and excellent customer experiences. Qualifications 10 to 15 years of HVAC experience with strong expertise in residential systems. Proven success in management, leadership, or supervisory roles preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage profit and loss, drive revenue, and build operational processes. Comfortable performing hands-on troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and maintenance in residential settings. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office. Valid driver's license with at least 12 months clean record (no major violations such as DUI or suspension, and no multiple minor violations in the past 3 years). EPA 608 Certification required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. Physical and Work Conditions Mix of office and field work with frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and driving in various weather and traffic. Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, stretch, twist, reach, and travel as needed. Normal or corrected vision for close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
