Job Description: The Clinical Supervisors primary responsibility involves providing guidance, leadership, oversight, and support to the clinicians and family support specialists; in their efforts to provide quality treatment for the clients served by the Child First with the goal of helping the clients and families remain successful in the community. The Clinical Supervisor, working in conjunction with the Clinical Director, is responsible for implementing program policies, contributing to program innovation, and facilitating interactions between clinicians, family support specialists, other professionals, and parents. The Clinical Supervisor demonstrates professional competency with proper utilization of supervision and consultation with other professionals. Administratively, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the continued effective functioning of in-home treatment, crisis management and related activities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the hiring, training supervision of family support specialists and clinicians. Works to ensure safe, therapeutic programming for young children and families in community. Participate as member of multi-disciplinary treatment team. Ensures program documentation is completed in a timely and professional manner. Continuously monitors program for improved service delivery. Ensure staff adheres to agency and department policies and procedures. Ensure that staff maintains an atmosphere in which racial, cultural, ethnic, gender, and physical differences are respected and honored. Co-lead staff meetings, contributing to improvements in programming and resolution of problems. Ensure that agency and program procedures are followed in emergency situations. Engage in problem solving and crisis management as need arises. Serve as a role model to staff, youth, and parents by exemplifying the philosophy, goals, values, policies, and procedures that are consistent with The Village. Coordinate and implement community services and home visits provided by the clinicians and family support specialists, as needed. Communicate, coordinate and collaborate with collateral agencies, including DCF, police, etc. Assist Clinical Director in developing yearly budget, control and monitoring of budget performance. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Experience and Skills: Educational Requirements: Masters in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Licensed Professional counselor, or Psychologist. Licensure/Certification Requirements: Clinical Licensure required (LCSW, LPC, LMFT), Valid drivers license; American Red Cross First Aid and CPR Certified. Experience Level: One to three years supervisory experience in clinical setting working with youth and families with mental health and behavioral issues Specific Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements: Early childhood knowledge preferred, with a background in outpatient or in home treatment services. Knowledge and experience in implementing trauma-informed and evidence based treatment models. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, to communicate with youth in a supportive, sympathetic, nurturing manner, to implement behavior intervention strategies, to be action-oriented in achieving program goals and solving problems, to maintain professionalism in difficult and stressful situations; skills in oral and written expression and excellent interpersonal skills required.. Personal Characteristics: Ability to be a good team player and leader, to demonstrate flexibility in approach to job and others, to be insightful, self-reflecting, and aware of impact on others, to be patient and empathic, to show good judgment in pressured situations. Cultural Competency: Familiarity, sensitivity, and/or experience working with diverse populations; Bilingual/bicultural skills preferred. Physical Abilities: Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations. These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the abilities to conduct home visits and actively participate in community meetings.
