Job Description:
Arbor Rose at Jerome Home is a 62 Apt Assisted Living Facility
in New Britain, CT. Established under the will executed by Augustus
Jerome. Arbor Rose Jerome Home is a privately-owned, not-for-profit
organization. We are a progressive assisted living community with a
highly competent and caring staff. Established in 2008, our multi
levels include, Memory Care, Assisted and Independent Living. Also
on our campus is Jerome Home, a 120 bed Long Term Care Facility. We
currently have an opening for the RN/LPN on the 11p - 7a shift.
This 40 hour position will work 5 days per week, Mon - Fri and some
on call responsibilities. It is also a benefit eligible position
offering Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 403b, 401k, and more. The RN
duties include, but are not limited to: * Admission of clients for
services. * Development of the client service program and
instructions for assisted living aide services. * Assessments,
completed as often as necessary based on the clients condition but
not less frequently than every one hundred and twenty (120) days,
and prompt action when a change is the clients condition would
require a change in the clients service program. The changes shall
be in-serviced with the PCAs. * Referral to appropriate
professionals or agencies, whenever the clients condition
necessitates, including the provision of current clinical
information ensuring that if the clients condition is no longer
chronic and stable, services of a licensed home health care agency
are engaged or other appropriate measures are made. * Supervision
of medication administration. * Provide scheduled 24-hour RN
availability with beeper/cell phone contact. * Provide nursing
services, which shall include, but not necessarily be limited to
client teaching, wellness counseling, health promotion, disease
prevention, medication administration and delegation of supervision
of self-administered medications. * Assist in the orientation of
newly assigned personnel as directed. * Develop work assignments
and/or assist CNAs in completing and performing such tasks. *
Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department
personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to
assure that nursing services and activities can be adequately
maintained to meet the needs of the residents. * The Registered
nurse will contribute directly and positively to the team approach
to quality residents care by attending and assisting with a variety
of physical, social and emotional needs of the residents to
maintain independence. We have several on-line programs currently
being used by our staff: * Matrix is used as our EMR. * Shifthound
is our on-line scheduling program. At the click of a button, you
can request time off or request to pick up a shift. You can also
send email/text notification to request coverage of an open shift.
* Relias is our on-line education program. Classes are assigned via
email for you to complete in the allotted time at your own pace. *
Paylocity is our online payroll system. We are all direct deposit
and you are able to view your check right online. In addition, we
communicate to staff through this system. The successful candidate
will: * Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to
practice as an RN/LPN in this state. * Preferred to have home care
or assisted living experience. * Must possess the ability to make
independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. *
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel,
residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel,
and the general public. * Must be knowledgeable of nursing and
medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and
guidelines that pertain to long-term care. * Must possess
leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with
professional and non-professional personnel. * Must possess the
ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the
programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that
are necessary for providing quality care. * Must have patience,
tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the
willingness to handle difficult residents. * Must be willing to
seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate
them into existing nursing practices. * Must be able to relate
information concerning a residents condition. * Must be able to
move intermittently throughout the workday. * Must be able to speak
and write the English language in an understandable manner. * Must
be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the
