Job Description:

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician (CWR) Location: Hackensack, NJ Contract Length: Through August 31, 2025 Shift: Monday – Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM | 5x8-hour shifts Schedule Requirements: Every other weekend; 3 out of 6 holidays; no on-call. Key Responsibilities: Decontaminate, inspect, and sterilize surgical instruments and reusable medical equipment using steam, Sterrad, Steris, and ETO systems Assemble surgical instrument sets accurately following computerized count sheets and surgeon preference cards Operate sterilization equipment and ensure compliance with biological testing protocols (Bowie Dick tests, integrator readings, and documentation) Prepare and deliver case carts to operating rooms in accordance with daily surgical schedules Communicate shortages and missing items to nursing and OR teams Maintain accurate sterilization records and follow strict PPE and Universal Precaution guidelines Handle patient care equipment and medical devices in compliance with departmental policies Lift minimum of 50 lbs., push/pull 60 lbs., and stand for extended periods during shift Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year of experience in sterile processing Completion of a Central Processing course or equivalent training National certification (CRCST or CBSPD) required Must be available to work every other weekend and rotating holidays Experience in decontamination, surgical tray assembly, case cart prep, and steam/Sterrad sterilization
