responsibility for the nursing practice, patient care delivery,
human and fiscal resources, and regulatory compliance of a patient
care unit. Maintains a professional environment that supports
delivery of high-quality patient and family centered care. /n Job
Responsibility /n /n 1.Manages and has 24/7 responsibility for the
team members, operations and patient care activities of a patient
care unit. /n 2.Assists nursing leadership in setting strategic
direction for key programs in alignment with organization mission,
vision, and values and nursing strategic plan. /n 3.Communicates,
builds consensus, and guides team toward achieving department
objectives. /n 4.Promotes and maintains high quality patient and
family centered care in a healing environment. /n 5.Creates a
professional work environment that fosters team member respect,
engagement, accountability and optimal patient outcomes. /n
6.Promotes appreciative inquiry and evidence-based, ethical and
compassionate practice. /n 7.Acquires and manages staffing for
patient care unit. Collaborates with HR for requirements. /n
8.Provides direction and guidance to patient care unit team members
and supervisors. /n 9.Facilitates performance reviews, promotions,
pay and corrective actions. /n 10.Serves as a role model for
standards of professional practice (clinical, educational and
leadership). /n 11.Assists in career development planning for team
members. /n 12.Educates teams in new and existing department
procedures and systems (information systems, fiscal responsibility,
etc.). /n 13.Manages patient care unit budget. Monitors
expenditures and implements action plans when variances are
present. /n 14.Monitors performance metrics that support
decision-making to achieve optimal performance levels. /n
15.Ensures adherence to the established care delivery model, using
knowledge of scope and standards of practice. /n 16.Facilitates
continual compliance for unit with the JC, CMS, New York State,
DOH, Public Health Law, HIPPA regulations and System, hospital and
department standards. /n 17.Demonstrates current knowledge of
clinical competencies for patient population of oversight in order
to manage direct patient care. /n 18.Maintains current knowledge of
scope and standards of practice, healthcare legislation, and
population health. /n 19.Identifies and leads opportunities to make
changes to improve operations across teams using evidence-based
strategies and solutions. /n 20.Performs related duties as

functions. /n Job Qualification /n /n Bachelors of Science Degree,
required. Masters, preferred. (Bachelors or Master’s Degree must be
in Nursing) /n Current license to practice as a Registered
Professional Nurse in New York State, required. /n Specialized
certifications, as needed. /n 6-8 years of nursing experience and
2-5 years of leadership/management experience, required.' /n
Pediatric Hematology Oncology experience, preferred /n BioTherapy
Provider/APHON Cert, preferred /n /n *Additional Salary Detail /n
