Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Physical Therapist - Discipline: Therapy - Start Date: 03/23/2026 - Duration: 17 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Title: Physical Therapist (PT) Department: Physical Therapy Division: Allied Health Care Setting: Acute Care Shift: Days (8 or 10-hour shifts) Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Duration: 17 Weeks Start Date: 03/23/2026 Position Type: Travel (Radius rule 75 miles) Job Summary: The Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized treatment programs for patients in an acute care setting. The PT works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent disability. The role requires strong clinical judgment, patient education skills, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload. Roles and Responsibilities: - Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and assessments. - Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient diagnosis and goals. - Provide therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, and mobility activities. - Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed. - Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety techniques, and discharge plans. - Document patient care, progress notes, and treatment plans accurately in the EMR system (MEDITECH). - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning. - Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. - Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives. Skills: - Strong knowledge of acute care physical therapy practices and protocols. - Excellent patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize patient caseload. - Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) documentation. - Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Requirements: - Active Physical Therapist (PT) license. - Minimum 2 years of experience in an acute care setting preferred. - AHA - BLS Certification required. - Ability to work 8 or 10-hour day shifts.
