This role requires strong clinical skills, adaptability, and the ability to quickly integrate into new care teams and environments. Travel RNs support staffing needs while maintaining excellence in patient safety and outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed Monitor patient conditions and report changes to physicians and healthcare team Perform specialty-specific procedures based on assignment (e.g., ICU, ER, Med-Surg, Telemetry) Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning Adhere to facility policies, state regulations, and safety standards Respond effectively to emergency situations Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN required per facility) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of assignment (or compact license if applicable) Minimum of 1–2 years of recent clinical experience in specialty area Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (if required by specialty) Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments Successful completion of background check, drug screening, and credentialing requirements Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Previous travel nursing experience Specialty certifications (e.g., CCRN, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, etc.) Experience with multiple EHR platforms Core Competencies Adaptability and flexibility Strong communication skills Clinical proficiency Time management and organization Cultural competence Professionalism and reliability Work Environment & Assignment Details Assignments typically range from 8–13 weeks Settings may include hospitals, trauma centers, outpatient facilities, rehabilitation centers, or specialty units Shifts may vary (8, 10, or 12 hours) Travel stipends, housing assistance, and benefits may be included per contract Apply now to start your next travel adventure!
