registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years Stepdown RN
experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. This opportunity is for a
skilled Registered Nurse with stepdown experience, specializing in
caring for post-operative patients requiring intermediate care. The
unit supports a diverse patient population, including
cardiothoracic, vascular, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant
cases. Ideal candidates have a minimum of two years recent acute
care experience, with proven proficiency in surgical stepdown and
IMCU/Stepdown settings. Key Responsibilities: Provide skilled
nursing care to post-operative stepdown patients transferred from
PACU or SICU. Independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm
strips to monitor cardiac status. Administer medications utilizing
automated dispensing systems. Collaborate with multidisciplinary
teams to ensure high-quality patient care. Manage patient
assignments with ratios averaging 1:3 to 1:5, depending on the
patient population mix. Successfully complete telemetry and
critical care medication competency exams on day one.
Qualifications and Desired Experience: Minimum 2 years recent acute
care experience. Essential: Surgical Stepdown experience.
Experience in IMCU/Stepdown nursing. At least one previous travel
nursing assignment. Ability to independently interpret telemetry
rhythms. Preferred: Experience in a tertiary level facility.
Comfortable managing a variety of complex surgical cases, including
cardiothoracic, vascular, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant
patients. Schedule: 12-hour evening shifts. 36 hours nights, every
other week (EOW), every other holiday (EOH). Location
