Safely operate a tractor-trailer truck on assigned local routes to deliver goods to various clients timely and efficiently. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as required by the Department of Transportation (DOT) to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition. Adhere to all company and legal requirements regarding documentation, including delivery papers, vehicle logs, and other associated paperwork. Maintain communication with dispatch and comply with all local and state driving laws and regulations. Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible. Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel, to benefit the business. Handle unexpected situations or delays effectively and communicate with dispatch to update on progress or issues. Strong driving skills and understanding of local traffic patterns. Ability to operate a GPS and other routing systems. Good physical condition to handle cargo when needed and operate the vehicle. Professional communication and interpersonal skills for efficient customer interaction and documentation handling.
