FLSA: Non-Exempt Position Type: Hybrid (1 day remote) Schedule:
37.5-hour work week Reporting to the HR Onboarding & Operations
Manager, the HR Onboarding Assistant supports new employees
throughout the onboarding lifecycle to ensure a smooth and
welcoming transition into the organization. This role is
responsible for conducting thorough background checks, coordinating
compliance training, and processing employment documentation in
accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The
ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment,
demonstrates strong attention to detail, and consistently ensures
onboarding procedures align with established workflows with Human
Resources experience or a strong interest in pursuing a career in
Human Resources. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate the onboarding
process for assigned new hires (typically up to 10–15 at a time)
Initiate and track education verification, background checks, and
reference checks using established workflows. Provide support to
new hires on completing all necessary steps required to complete
our rigorous onboarding process, stepping in to provide additional
guidance as needed. Maintains regular contact with new hires via
all available channels, including email, phone, and text. Works
seamlessly with CUMC department hiring teams to keep them updated
on new hire progress. Upload and maintain accurate documentation in
the Electronic Records Management System. Drafting offer letters
using templates and submitting for approval. Support orientation
logistics (room setup, materials, check-in support) Provide phone
coverage, and scanning duties. Respond to monthly audits of
employee files for accuracy and completeness. Escalates onboarding
issues promptly to management. Confirm attendance for new hire
orientation (final clearance email) with departments. Cultivates
positive interpersonal relationships with ServiceCorp and CUMC
staff members. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Requires a
minimum of one year of Human Resources experience, or recent
graduation from an accredited Human Resources degree program. At
least two years of experience working in a professional office
environment. High school diploma or equivalency is required,
college degree preferred. Effective communication, customer service
skills and presentation skills. Experienced with Applicant Tracking
Systems and Human Resource Information Systems (ADP) is helpful.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications,
including Word and Excel. Able to handle sensitive information
carefully and keep it confidential. Ability to draft routine
correspondence clearly and professionally. Organizational and time
