Job Description Job Description We are working with an Am Law
200 firm seeking an associate with at least four years of
environmental law experience to join their Hartford, CT (preferred)
or New Haven, CT office. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated
experience advising clients on complex environmental and regulatory
matters in Connecticut, including environmental transactions and
due diligence, regulatory compliance and enforcement, permitting,
site remediation, state environmental regulations across all media,
and risk mitigation related to real estate development and business
transactions. Experience with environmental administrative
proceedings, litigation, and enforcement matters before state,
federal, and local environmental regulatory agencies is preferred.
Experience with key federal environmental, health, and safety
statutes and regulations; emerging contaminants and evolving
regulatory standards; Massachusetts and New York state
requirements; international chemical regulation and remedial
obligations; and engagement with environmental regulatory bodies,
including the Connecticut Siting Council, the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency and the United States Army Corps of Engineers is
desirable. Candidates must have excellent legal research,
technical, project management, and client service skills; excellent
written and verbal communication skills; have a demonstrated
ability to independently and proactively manage matters, including
anticipating client needs and managing deadlines and deliverables
with minimal supervision; and have strong analytical and
problem-solving skills with a practical, business-oriented
approach. Admission to practice law in Connecticut is required;
dual admission in New York and/or Massachusetts is a plus.
Graduation from law school and practice experience is required. The
