Winona, MS Full-Time/Hourly Evenings, nights, and weekends may be
required. (CDL Preferred, but not required) About the Role: The
Non-CDL Utility Driver plays a critical role in supporting daily
operations by safely transporting materials, equipment, and
personnel within the designated service area. This position ensures
timely and efficient delivery and pickup tasks, contributing to the
overall productivity and success of the team. The driver will
operate non-CDL vehicles, adhering strictly to all safety
regulations and company policies to maintain a secure working
environment. Additionally, the role involves routine vehicle
inspections and basic maintenance to guarantee operational
readiness. Ultimately, this position supports the seamless
execution of utility services by providing reliable and
professional transportation solutions. Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver’s license without a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
endorsement. (CDL Preferred, but not required) Clean driving record
with no recent violations or accidents. Ability to safely operate
non-CDL vehicles and perform basic vehicle inspections. Physical
ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds as required.
High school diploma or equivalent. Time management and ability to
maintain route consistency Communication and customer service
skills Proficiency in operating Manual and Automatic Transmission
vehicles Ability to use a manual or electric pallet jack Knowledge
of hydraulics is a plus Basic computer and cell phone knowledge
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a utility driver
or in a similar transportation role. Familiarity with the Tupelo,
MS / Lakeland area and local traffic regulations. Basic mechanical
knowledge for minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Strong
communication and organizational skills. Ability to work
independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Class A CDL (Active License) with no restrictions Responsibilities:
Operate non-CDL vehicles to transport materials, tools, and
personnel to various job sites within the requested area. Perform
pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and
proper functioning of the vehicle. Assist with loading and
unloading equipment and supplies as needed to support field
operations. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and
vehicle maintenance activities. Adhere to all traffic laws, safety
protocols, and company policies to ensure safe and efficient
transportation. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team
members regarding schedules, routes, and any issues encountered
during transport. Support other utility operations tasks as
assigned to facilitate smooth workflow and project completion
Regularly communicate with customers and vendors to ensure seamless
operations Communicate with the corporate office/operations team
regularly for all service, equipment, and customer service-related
issues. Report all accidents and injuries immediately to the safety
manager. Ability to work flexible hours based on seasonality, up to
60 hours in a 7-day week or 70 hours in 8 days. Attend and
participate in weekly safety calls, training courses, or briefings.
Basic usage of a computer and cell phone for training,
communication, and expense management Regardless of any regularly
scheduled service route assignment, drivers may be scheduled to
work a different assignment, including interstate routes. All
drivers should have an expectation of operating in interstate
commerce as needed. Skills: The required skills enable the driver
to operate vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring the timely
delivery of materials and personnel to support utility operations.
Attention to detail is essential for conducting thorough vehicle
inspections and maintaining accurate records, which helps prevent
breakdowns and ensures compliance with safety standards. Physical
stamina and coordination are necessary for handling equipment and
supplies during loading and unloading tasks. Preferred skills such
as local area knowledge and basic mechanical aptitude enhance the
driver's ability to navigate routes effectively and address minor
vehicle issues promptly. Strong communication skills facilitate
clear coordination with team members and supervisors, contributing
