Job Description:

As a Fleet Supervisor at UniFirst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our fleet operations, which are pivotal to delivering exceptional service to our customers across the United States, Europe, and Canada. You will oversee the maintenance, compliance, and cost-efficiency of our vehicle fleet, while also ensuring that our transportation services adhere to company standards and regulatory requirements. Manage day-to-day operations of the fleet including routine and preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs. Supervise fleet maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance to ensure a competent workforce. Ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to fleet operations and vehicle safety. Optimize route planning and fleet allocation based on customer needs and transport logistics. Monitor fleet operation expenses, develop budgets, and implement strategies to reduce costs. Maintain accurate records of vehicle status and inventory, fleet usage, and maintenance schedules. Oversee the implementation of safety standards for operating and maintaining vehicles. Liaise with vendors and external service providers to negotiate contracts and ensure service quality. Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Proficiency in fleet management software Good understanding of mechanics and vehicle maintenance Ability to analyze data and improve operational efficiency Strong communication and negotiation skills Medical Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certification in Fleet Management (CFM) preferred Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or equivalent
