Job Description: JOB SUMMARY Provide stabilization, abbreviated assessment and linkage to appropriate treatment services for children/adolescents and families impacted by crime. Maintain strong relationships with judicial, police, hospital, child welfare, and domestic violence shelters. Upon referral, respond to police, hospital or other settings within expected timeframe. Clinician is responsible for reflective group supervision weekly and maintaining clinical documentation according to licensing, accreditation, Medicaid and OVS requirements. Participate in community meetings such as Hartford Multidisciplinary Team. Maintain a strong current knowledge base of services and supports available within the community including the availability of appropriate Evidenced Based Treatment Models. Employee will be trained in EMDR and the EMDR R-TEP Protocol. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides direct services to children and their families which may include: Assessment and engagement Provide DSM V Diagnosis in consultation with Supervisor and Medical Director or designated Psychiatrist Formulation and contracting for services or treatment plan Implementation of treatment plan, modifying it as appropriate during the course of treatment Discharge planning which may include linkages to community support services Case management services Clinical documentation required by agency and program policies, HIPAA regulations, and funding sources. Maintain productivity targets determined by service. Provides clinical and administrative supervision to staff members and interns, including orientation, evaluation, and support/monitoring of staff development. Provision of service in the office, school, or other identified setting to meet the unique needs of families served. Facilitates Peer Consultation and Quality Assurance; participates in Utilization Review. Works as a team member with other clinical and administrative staff to respond to client and programmatic needs, including the implementation of agency policies, procedures, and initiatives. Partners with Supervisor to identify and develop plans for professional growth. With Supervisors approval, partners with other program or clinical staff to identify and develop approaches to address clients unmet needs or service gaps. Contributes to program functioning by assuming responsibility for special tasks or leadership in special projects as appropriate. Participates in Clinical Supervisor and management trainings as requested. Contributes to agency organizational life by participating in agency wide task forces, committees or problem solving teams as appropriate. Contributes to agency visibility and development of community linkages by representing the Village in community groups or committees. Acquiring and maintaining the needed skills in evidenced based models that the agency/ program ascribe to. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Experience and Skills: Clinical degree in social work, psychology, or other licensed counseling degree with at least five years experience working with children and families. CT license is required. Bilingual/bicultural skills preferred. Cultural competency to serve a diverse population Strong diagnostic, assessment and treatment skills for individual, family and group therapy. Extensive experience working with culturally diverse urban populations, a wide age range, and a variety of clinical presentations. Knowledge of mental health, child welfare systems, and community resources. Good organizational, communication and supervisory skills. Ability to function autonomously in day to day responsibilities; yet, seek consultation appropriately when needed. Proficiency with word processing and general computer skills. Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
