POSITION SUMMARY Join a team dedicated to helping families learn, grow, and reconnect. Reunification & Therapeutic Family Time is looking for a per diem clinician who has experience working with families and DCF. The position is up to 15 hours a week to conduct supervised visits, communicate with providers, and write assessments on families readiness to reunify with their children. Must hold either an intermediate license in CT (LMSW, LPCA, LMFTA) or be independently licensed in CT (LCSW, LMFT or LPC). EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work or related license eligible field or a doctoral degree in Psychology is required. Evidence of skills and experience working with high risk families is required. Must hold one of the following credentials: LMSW, LCSW, LMFTA, LMFT, LPCA, LPC or licensed or license-eligible Psychologist in the State of Connecticut. LOCATION New Britain, CT SCHEDULE Fee for Service, up to 15 hours per week ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develops and implements in collaboration with the family and DCF a Plan of Care within program specific time frames. Organizes Family Team Meetings and Permanency Team Meetings as determined by program specific guidelines. Actively engages Resource Family as appropriate. Arranges for parent/child interaction in accordance with program specific guidelines and provides transportation for both parents and children as needed. Meets with Parent(s) in accordance with program specific guidelines. Conducts reunification readiness assessments for families and children referred for this service type. This includes assessing family functioning, exploring risk and safety concerns, identifying strengths and needs, as well as any barriers to reunification. Providing feedback and recommendations regarding familys readiness for reunification. Utilizes the North Carolina Family Assessment Scale for General Services to inform services delivery. Utilizes a Wraparound approach to engage the family and build their network of support. Delivers a Staged Model to support families and actively engages and involves fathers throughout the reunification process. Delivers Therapeutic Family Time interventions/treatment. Implements the Visit Coaching Model with parents. Utilizes the Keys to Interactive Parenting Scale to further assess child and parent behaviors. Demonstrates knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral health concerns and primary modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention. Triages clinical emergencies and implements program specific safety and consultation protocols. Utilizes best practices and evidenced based practice models where appropriate and adheres to model and program expectations. Demonstrates knowledge of internal and external levels of care, referral processes and resources. Makes clinically appropriate referrals for identified service needs in a timely manner. Communicates in a positive, effective manner with client, family, and all internal and external providers. Attends any required meetings. Meets direct service productivity goals as defined by program. Demonstrates knowledge of program/department/agency goals and target outcomes, and adheres to practice standards and to data collection and reporting protocols. Works a flexible schedule to ensure services are delivered at times that are workable for the families on his/her caseload at any point in time to promote therapeutic family time, including evening and weekend hours. Works collaboratively with supervisor to develop weekly schedule. Provides rotating on-call coverage with other team members to ensure 24 hour availability to program clients. Documents all client related information in compliance with agency policy. Attends and is prepared for scheduled supervision. Seeks additional supervision or consultation as needed and follows through with supervisory directives. Provides service in the office and/or community settings outside of the office (e.g., homes, schools, hospitals, institutions, other community locations) as defined by the program. Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
