What You'll Do:
As a Material Simulation Scientist, you'll be part of our Hand Tools & (HTAS)Storage team located in East Longmeadow MA. As a HTAS Advanced Materials Simulation Scientist you will be responsible for supporting the materials leaders, engineers and business unit leaders in each of the three Sub Business units (Construction tools, Automotive tools, Industrial Tools). You'll get to:

Lead a simulation capability within the business unit to develop new materials, processes, and technologies to be applied into our products by our engineering departments.
Teach other material scientists and engineers within the business unit and company to leverage the simulation tool and capability and grow a master database of which to pull data for models
Create, build, and manage a master materials database in the simulation tool and share with the business units and broader company with the intent of pulling in as much data as possible for more complete and complex models.
Support metals and Ceramics is a top priority however plastics and other fields will also require research and simulation

Who You Are:

MS/ME/PhD Material Science & Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering or similar
4 yrs. experience
Materials Optimization Simulation experience - Machine learning simulation desired
Advanced material and process knowledge
Report writing, presentation, and publication of technical literature quantitative analysis and diagnostic testing with qualitative feedback and guidance
Vapor deposition processing for hard coatings, abrasives, cutting, and thermal barrier protection
Verbal presentation experience
