Job Description Senior Operational Risk Consultant Job Location:
Virtual but must be commutable to Bloomfield, CT; Tampa FL; or
Bridgewater, NJ Required - 1 day per quarter in office Role Value
Proposition: Under minimal supervision, this position will be
tasked with supporting projects and assisting with the performance
of audits and oversight of risks/controls for our Long-Term Care
Operations team. Identifies and mitigates risk items. Monitors,
tracks, and participates in testing for controls each quarter as
required that impact business operations. Assignment of business
projects with varying degrees of complexity and scale. Strong
analytical and computer skills. Ability to make business decisions
and work with compliance, legal, and staff members to obtain
guidance. Provides and maintains effective communications with key
business partners and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Acts as
liaison between Auditors and Operations to develop, implement, and
follow up on corrective and proactive control action plans. Ensures
that administrative processes are consistent with company policy
and insurance and securities rules and regulations. Assists with
review of internal and external audits, complaints and concerns
with compliance and the business and assists in developing
corrective measures and implementation. Assists other staff to
perform audits of processes to ensure compliance with stated
procedures. Assists in identifying issues and developing action
plans and responds to related inquiries. Assists with the
performance of audits verifying action plans are implemented
properly and timely. Support of new and ongoing projects as
assigned. Escalates issues to management. Seeks guidance and
counsel from Corporate Compliance, Corporate Legal or Controls
staff regarding controls related inquiries, concerns, and/or
regulations. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: Required:
Bachelor---s degree. 5-7 years of relevant experience (preferred)
Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Excel experience. Able to
work independently in a fast-paced environment. Preferred:
Experience with projects and data review & analysis. Must be
extremely organized and detail oriented. Ability to communicate
effectively across all levels of an organization. Expanded
knowledge of MetLife Long-Term Care systems is strongly desired.
Ability to drive projects to timely completion, identifying and
overcoming obstacles and/or challenges. Business Category MetLife
