National Grid is hiring a Financial Consultant, Customer Energy Integration
This position can be located in Syracuse or Brooklyn, NY
This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to our locationsJob PurposeFinancial Consultants ensure that National Grid accurately tracks costs associated with distributed generation and storage projects. As a Financial Analyst, your work directly impacts customer costs to add clean energy to our electric grid. You will work on multiple tasks, find ways to creative solve challenges, perform detailed analyses, work with cross-functional teams and present information to leadership and our customers.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing employees to work both remotely and on-site. Specific in-office days will be determined in coordination with the team and management to ensure effective collaboration and communication.Key Accountabilities

  • Support Customer Organization leaders and other key stakeholders to make sound financial decisions through effective reporting, comprehensive analyses, variance analysis and effectively communicating key takeaways
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop financial insights and to evaluate the financial impact of National Grid's costs on our customers
  • Develop strong working relationships across teams, functions and levels
  • Apply analytical skills, judgement, attention to detail, and creativity to effectively solve problems
  • Navigate ambiguity, take initiative and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment, balancing the needs of multiple stakeholder groups
  • Pivot to address ad hoc requests as they arise in an effective and efficient manner
  • Proactively build relationships and drive accountability
  • Present metrics results in a suitable style for the target audience, delivering insights and highlighting priority areas of focus
  • Influence and challenge the business to ensure processes and activities are geared for maximum performance
  • Identify risks and opportunities for improvementQualifications
    • Minimum of Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics. Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
    • 3+ years of related experience
    • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
    • Ability to collaborate, influence and drive solutions to completion
    • Ability to thrive in a matrix type environment
    • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills with an ability to identify key issues and recommend solutions to complex problems using data, logic and financial insight
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Inquisitive and self-starter
    • Excel and PowerPoint skills
    • Experience with SAP
    • PowerBI, PowerPlant and Salesforce experience is a plus

      $101,000 - $119,000 a year - Brooklyn, NY
      Salary commensurate with location and experienceThis position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
